ATH Móvil Business for barbers, stylists and beauty professionals

ATH Móvil Business lets clients pay you from the ATH Móvil app they already use. Here's what it costs, what you need to open it, and how to keep every payment in your records.

What it is

ATH Móvil Business is Evertec's service for businesses that receive payments from ATH Móvil users. The app you download is called ATH Business. Evertec says it's available only in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Your clients don't need anything new. They open their usual ATH Móvil app, tap Pay a Business (Pagar a un negocio) and choose your business by its pATH, or scan your QR code. Paying a business is free for them.

Personal ATH Móvil or ATH Móvil Business

Personal ATH Móvil is for sending money to family, friends and people you know. Its terms say not to use it to receive commercial transactions, and transfers to individual accounts are capped at $500 a day.

  • Personal: clients send money to your phone number, and it mixes with your own.
  • Business: clients pay your pATH, your QR code or your payment button, never a phone number, and the money goes to a business account. You get reports, refunds and a record kept apart from your personal money.

What you need to open it

You sign up in the ATH Business app. According to Evertec's questions page, you'll need:

  • A business account at a participating bank or cooperative, and its ATH debit card. You can register one card per account. The list of participating institutions is on ath.business.
  • Your business details: type of business, name, structure, your merchant registration number (Número de Registro de Comerciante) and a mailing address.
  • An email that isn't already used on another ATH Business profile. You'll sign in with it.
  • A pATH: the unique name clients will see, 3 to 25 letters or numbers, starting with “/”, like /StudioMaria.

Evertec reviews each business before it can receive payments, and says the review takes 5 business days or less. If you don't have a merchant registration number yet, ask your accountant how to get one first.

What it costs

This is what Evertec publishes on ath.business (checked October 19, 2026):

  • 2.25% of each payment you receive, with a minimum of $0.06.
  • No monthly fee, and the app is free.
  • Nothing for your client. Paying a business by ATH Móvil is free for them.

On a $40.00 service, the fee is $0.90 and you keep $39.10. Evertec takes its fee from your business account. Its terms don't allow a surcharge for paying by ATH Móvil, or passing the fee on to the client, so set your prices with it in mind. Evertec can change its fees, so check ath.business before you count on these numbers.

Daily limits

  • You can receive up to $10,000 a day through ATH Móvil.
  • Each client can pay you up to $1,500 a day.

The limit per client matters for long, expensive work. One client can't pay a $1,800 tattoo session by ATH Móvil in a single day. Take the deposit on an earlier day, or agree on another way to pay the rest before the appointment.

When the money reaches your account

Evertec says payments are received in real time, into the business account linked to the ATH debit card you registered. Each payment shows on the app's main screen as it comes in, and Evertec emails you a weekly and a monthly report. When the money shows in your bank's statement depends on your bank or cooperative.

At the counter and online

  • Show your QR code where clients pay, printed or on a tablet. Only the ATH Móvil app can scan it. Evertec offers free promotional material on ath.business.
  • Tell clients your pATH when they can't scan. They type it in Pay a Business.
  • Put your pATH in your Instagram bio and on your booking page, so clients can pay a deposit before they come.
  • Turn on tips in the app's settings, under Tips, and choose the percentages clients will see.

Confirm the payment before the client leaves

  1. Ask the client to pay while they're still with you.
  2. Look for the payment on your ATH Business main screen, not on the client's phone.
  3. Check the amount and the client's name.
  4. If you'll need to find it later, note the 4-digit Transaction ID. It starts at zero every day.

A screenshot on the client's phone doesn't prove the payment reached you. Your own app does.

Refunds

You can refund all or part of a payment from the ATH Business app: open Activity, choose the payment, tap Reembolso (Refund), enter your account password, choose the amount and send it. The money goes back to the card the client paid with, if it's still in their ATH Móvil.

Evertec's terms don't allow charging a client a fee for returning a payment.

Record every payment so your earnings add up

ATH Business only shows what came in by ATH Móvil. Your cash is somewhere else, and your card payments are somewhere else again. Look at only one of them, and a good week can look slow.

Evertec says it sends a Form 480 to Puerto Rico's Departamento de Hacienda every year with the income your business received through ATH Business. Keep your own record of every payment so your numbers match, and ask your accountant how it fits your return.

In Bookeao Pro, you'll be able to record an ATH Móvil or cash payment on the appointment in one tap, and every earnings number will include them, not only card payments. Clients will keep paying you straight into your ATH Business account. Paying by ATH Móvil inside Bookeao comes after launch. Bookeao will never hold that money or take a cut of it.

Questions

What if a client sends me too much?

Evertec tells clients to contact the business for a refund. Refund the difference from Activity, with your account password, the same day, while you both remember the payment.

Can a client pay a $2,000 service by ATH Móvil?

Not in one day. Each client can pay a business up to $1,500 a day. Split it: a deposit on an earlier day and the rest at the appointment, or the rest another way.

Will clients be able to pay me by ATH Móvil inside Bookeao Pro?

Not at launch. At launch, you'll record them in one tap so they count in your earnings. Paying by ATH Móvil inside Bookeao comes after launch.
